G-CAPP Campaign Communities Launch Youth Leadership Program (YLP)
This summer the Thomasville-Atlanta and Gainesville offices kicked off the first summer Youth Leadership Program (YLP). The youth enrolled in the program are between the ages of
13 - 19 and are from the surrounding communities.
G-CAPP partnered with the following schools to recruit and select core candidates for the program. Thomasville-Atlanta: South Atlanta High School, Southside High School, Luther Judson Price Middle School, and M.L. King Middle School. Gainesville: South Hall Middle School, the Evenstar Centers, the Phoenix Academy, Gainesville High School, the Melrose Apartments, Gainesville College and the Boys and Girls Clubs.

The summer component of YLP consists of 2 sessions per week and will last for 8 consecutive weeks. After the summer YLP session concludes, the regular session of YLP will begin in August of 2005. The regular session will entail a Junior YLP for 7th and 8th graders and a Senior YLP for 9th through 12th grade students.
Applications for both Junior and Senior YLP sessions are currently being accepted at the Thomasville-Atlanta office. Participants in the program should live in the Thomasville-Atlanta area or in zip codes 30315 or 30316.
