Executive Transition Announcement

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff at the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP), we are writing to inform you that Michele Ozumba has announced her resignation as President and CEO of the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP). After 12 years at G-CAPP; 10 as Chief Executive Officer, she will depart at the end of April to become the Chief Program Officer at the Women’s Funding Network in San Francisco, CA.

Michele Ozumba

Michele has been with G-CAPP a very long time – first as a board member representing the Georgia Department of Human Resources, then as Policy Director, and finally becoming CEO in 2001. She has been a wonderful asset to our organization. During her tenure, G-CAPP has established programs for parenting teens that have become national models, formed exciting partnerships with influential nonprofit organizations, and G-CAPP is now strategically positioned as a leader in adolescent pregnancy prevention in Georgia and the southeast region.

Michele has expressed her leaving G-CAPP as full of mixed emotions. “My time at G-CAPP has been the singular best experience in my professional life. It has been full of exciting opportunities and experiences from seeing the lives of our young people transformed by our dedicated staff and partners; to being on the red carpet with famous people who all showed up over the years to support this amazing organization.

“I want to thank Jane Fonda and the Board of Directors for allowing me the privilege to serve this extraordinary organization over the past dozen years. I also want to thank our community of donors and advocates whose generosity and passion helped fuel our growth and progress.” Michele will continue to support G-CAPP in an advisory role.

The Board has named a committee to lead the search for the next leader of G-CAPP. During this time of transition, we count on your continued support so that the young people we serve can count on us.   Please join us in thanking Michele for her dedication on behalf of Georgia’s youth and in wishing her continued success in her new career.
