We’ve all read story after story, that, for the first time, we’re now seeing a generation owf kids who are getting diagnosed with what we’ve all commonly known as adult diseases…type2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol...  As part of our work to help ensure young people in Georgia are healthy and resilient, GCAPP has launched a nutrition-focused community education project,  When Kids Eat Better, They Do Better, for parents of adolescents. With the goal of awareness and education, the Eat Better, Do better campaign will meet parents where they are.  Starting with this website, and advancing to a media campaign, the project will provide parents with easy, doable, small steps that can make a big difference in the everyday lives of their kids and families, and, ultimately, help get them on the road to better health.  Nearly 1 million kids in Georgia are either overweight or obese.  There’s a place at the table for everyone. Dig in the dirt with us!  GCAPP has hosted several Garden Builds at local elementary schools.  Our students and their families have helped plant the gardens, enjoyed the harvests, and learned more about good nutrition along the way!
