About Us

25 Years of Education, Prevention & Action for Adolescent Health

For a quarter of a century the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential (GCAPP) has served as a leading organization on behalf of Georgia’s young people.  With the mission to improve the overall health and well-being of young people in Georgia to ensure a more powerful future for us all, we impact more than 60,000 young people a year in five focus areas:

Youth Empowerment
Comprehensive Sex Ed
Teen Pregnancy Prevention
Parent Engagement
Physical Activity & Nutrition

Our statewide collaborative partnerships include every facet of the Georgia youth ecosystem—youth and youth- serving organizations, schools, agencies, faith-based organizations, the business community, clinics and health professionals, and parents—to help young people mitigate risks that could result in long-term negative consequences that are difficult to overcome.

Every young person possesses tremendous potential to grow into their own and impact communities in remarkable ways. But all too often their potential goes unrecognized, untapped, or gets lost in all the challenges they face such as fragile family situations, anxiety, depression, academic pressure,  unhealthy and risky behavior, and complicated relationships with their peers and adults. When young people have hope they can see a meaningful future. When young people make informed, healthy choices, their possibilities are boundless. They are more prepared to maximize their power and potential and journey into a successful adulthood.  This is why GCAPP exists.
