GCAPP Overview

Our Mission:

To improve the overall health and well-being of young people in Georgia to ensure a more powerful future for us all.

Our Vision:

We believe all children are entitled to a safe and healthy adolescence characterized by hope, respect and the opportunity for a productive future.

About GCAPP:

The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential (GCAPP) was founded in 1995 when Georgia had the highest teen birth rate in the nation. Today’s teen pregnancy birth rate in Georgia has dropped by more than 66%. Jane Fonda founded GCAPP 23 years ago to broaden the teen pregnancy prevention agenda by addressing root causes that go hand-in-hand with the issue such as poverty, child neglect and abuse, dropping out of school, and often, the lack of hope. Through its programs in youth empowerment, healthy relationships, parent empowerment, and overall physical health and well-being of adolescents, GCAPP reaches over 55,000 young people a year, providing them with the information, skills, and motivation they need to make healthy choices…choices that won’t derail one’s future.
