5 Facts about Ronald McNeill

 

Ronald is a 16-year nonprofit and higher education veteran dedicated to serving young people. He is the former director of governmental affairs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Most recently he served as chief development officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County in Naples, FL.

 

1.      In the thorough search for GCAPP’s next chief executive, Ronald rose to the top because his background and experience as a nonprofit sector leader.  His background aligns well with GCAPP’s programs, services, and expansion opportunities. He brings to GCAPP an attractive combination of executive leadership, nonprofit management, advocacy, fundraising, and external relations. 

 

2.  Thirteen of his 16 years in youth development were with BGCA. McNeill began his long tenure with the organization at the Boys & Girls Club of Nash/Edgecombe Counties in North Carolina as director of operations. 

 

3.  Ronald also spent time in higher education as executive director of the Independent College Fund of North Carolina, leading fundraising and marketing campaigns to support student scholarships and enrichment programs at 36 colleges and universities throughout North Carolina.

 

4.  Much of his volunteer service has focused on advocating for young people to ensure that out-of-school time and expanded learning opportunities are policy priorities at the national, state, and levels.

 

5.  Ronald, a North Carolina native, holds a bachelor’s from East Carolina University and a master’s (MPA) from North Carolina Central University. He and his wife Nicole have two girls.
